Q. If my pet is missing, and I think it has been picked up
by Animal Control, who do I contact?
A. First, call the Aurora Humane Society, 402-694-APET (2738). 
If no one answers, please leave a voice message
and number where you can be reached.

Dogs & Cats At Large:
It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog or cat to allow such dog
or cat to run at large at any time in the municipality. Any dog or cat found to be running at large shall be impounded.
   
To redeem your dog or cat you must pay an impound fee.
  • 1st impoundment:  $5.00 plus $2.00 per day
  • 2nd impoundment:  $10.00 plus $2.00 per day
  • 3rd impoundment:  $15.00 plus $2.00 per day
If the owner of a dog or cat that is impounded is not claimed within
5 days, the dog or cat becomes the property of the City of Aurora
and may be adopted or disposed of in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
